Trip Length: 6.6 miles. Level: Beginner
Learn about the history of the area as we meander our way along
the river first through quickwater and riffles then paddling flatwater
until we reach the Covered Bridge. Led by HVA staff.

Overview

Meet at 9:15 a.m. at the launch in Lake Waramaug State Park, 15 Lake Waramaug Rd., Kent, with an expected launch by 9:30 a.m. Moderate paced 4-hour, 9-mile circuit of the lake. Paddlers must provide their own equipment. There is a short portage from the parking lot to the lake. Bring lunch, snacks, and water. Life jacket must be worn for the trip duration. Due to the cool fall temperatures, wear wicking clothing (no cotton!) and bring an extra set of clothes in a dry bag. Afterwards, drive over to Macedonia Brook State Park for the AT Day BBQ. Driving Directions: Rt. 8 to Exit 42 to Rt. 118 West to Rt. 202 West to Rt. 341 West. Left on Rt. 45 South, then right on North Shore Rd. At the end of the lake, left on Lake Waramaug Rd., and the entrance to Lake Waramaug State Park is on the right.
