Rivers Alliance of CT recently re-built our water-related events listings after a transition to a new website hosting provider. The new listings of events includes everything we listed on the old websites, but in what we hope is more useful format. Here are our lists of events:
Saturday, September 30 – Paddle:
Great Barrington – A Historical Tour
Time: 10am – 3pm
Trip Length: 6.6 miles. Level: Beginner
Learn about the history of the area as we meander our way along
the river first through quickwater and riffles then paddling flatwater
until we reach the Covered Bridge. Led by HVA staff.

Connecticut, West of River,
Meet at 9:15 a.m. at the launch in Lake Waramaug State Park, 15 Lake Waramaug Rd., Kent, with an expected launch by 9:30 a.m. Moderate paced 4-hour, 9-mile circuit of the lake. Paddlers must provide their own equipment. There is a short portage from the parking lot to the lake. Bring lunch, snacks, and water. Life jacket must be worn for the trip duration. Due to the cool fall temperatures, wear wicking clothing (no cotton!) and bring an extra set of clothes in a dry bag. Afterwards, drive over to Macedonia Brook State Park for the AT Day BBQ.
