Most of us flush the toilet or empty the kitchen sink without giving much thought to what happens next. But behind the scenes, dedicated people work every day to make sure our wastewater is safely treated before returning to our rivers and streams.

The documentary Unless Something Goes Terribly Wrong takes us inside a wastewater treatment plant in Portland, Maine, where a dedicated team battles aging infrastructure, forever chemicals, and public misconceptions to keep their community's waters clean.

It's a story that's especially relevant here in Connecticut, where communities face enormous costs to maintain and upgrade the infrastructure we all depend on but rarely think about.

We've heard great things about this film from fellow water advocates, and we encourage you to join the Connecticut Water Environment Association for a screening!
